Subject: Engineering Applications Of Computers (EEC 1802) Credit Value: 2 Synopsis: The aim of this unit is to help student to familiarize with the PC and to enable the student to develop competence in typical application packages, for example: Microsoft Office, Workbench, Pspice & Matlab Subject: Basic Electrical and Electronic Principles (EEE 1103) Credit Value: 3 Synopsis: The aim of this unit is to teach the students the principles of electricity and method of analysis related to AC and DC circuits. Topics include atomic structure, resistance, Ohm’s Law and electric circuits. Series, parallel and series-parallel circuits are constructed and analyze. Methods of analysis for more complex circuits such as superposition and Thevenin’s theorem are taught in this course. Topics like magnetic field and electromagnetic induction are also included. It also emphasized on capacitors and inductors in basic electrical circuits involving series, parallel and combination configurations. Subject: Analogue Electronics (EEE 1204) Credit Value: 4 Synopsis: This unit covers semiconductor devices such as diode, transistor, optoelectronics devices, thyristor and their general application. Develops the subject of analogue electronics circuits to include power amplifiers. Subject Title : Mathematics 1 (EMT 1003) Credit Value : 3 Synopsis : Mathematics is used as a means to convey information to students in several technical courses. Solutions to problems require the ability to manipulate mathematically. This unit emphasizes and develops skills in algebra, equation, coordinate geometry, graph, trigonometry, vector, exponent and logarithm. Subject Title : Management 1(UBM 1012) Credit Value : 2 Synopsis : To introduce the students to basic management with coverage in the areas of self management, organizational management, supervision, decision making and problem solving. Subject Title : English and Communication Studies 1(UEC 1022) Credit Value : 2 Synopsis : The aim of this unit is to develop the skills of the students in the four language areas, i.e. reading, speaking, listening and writing. This is to enable students to make a smooth transition to post-secondary education conducted in the second language. For the listening, reading, text completion and writing skills, situations will be drawn largely from the technical field. The writing section will focus on the description of modern devices and innovations. Emphasis will also be given on speaking skills, so as to build students’ confidence and fluency in speaking in English. Practice in selected grammatical items will be carried out too. Subject Title : Tasawwur Islam (DUS 1042) Credit Value : 2 Synopsis : Subjek Pengajian Islam disediakan untuk melahirkan warganegara khususnya pelajar Islam yang faham tasawwur Islam sebagai satu cara hidup yang bersepadu dan seimbang, serta mampu menyelesaikan sebarang masalah dan cabaran. Peringkat pengajian semester ini pelajar akan didedahkan dengan konsep asas Islam, iman dan ihsan, Islam sebagai ad-Din, asas-asas dan maqasid syariah tasawwur Islam, pandangan semesta Islam, konsep jihad, peradaban, keunikan dan keistimewaan, sumbangan, faktor kejayaan dan kemerosotan tamadun Islam dan konsep seni dan keindahan serta cabaran-cabaran semasa. |
