HND 1 Subject Title : Analytical Methods For Engineers (EMT 3003) Credit Value : 3 Synopsis : Subject Title : Electrical And Electronic Principles (EEE 3103) Credit Value : 3 Synopsis : This unit covers the electrical principles that students in many branches of electrical and electronic engineering need to understand. It builds on the elements of ac theory in Engineering Science (Unit 3). It also provides the basis for further study in more specialist areas of electrical principles. Subject Title : Digital and Analogue Devices and Circuits (EED 3303) Credit Value : 3 Synopsis : The unit overlaps with and extends the theory of operational amplifiers contained in the option Electronics (Unit 7). It provides students with an understanding of a range of electronic devices and circuits used in modern electronic systems. Subject Title : Engineering Science (EES 3503) Credit Value : 3 Synopsis : The aim of this unit is to investigate a number of major scientific principles, which underpin the design, and operation of engineering systems. It is a broad-based unit, covering both mechanical and electrical principles. Its intention is to give an overview which will provide the basis for further study in specialist areas of engineering. Subject Title : Programming Concepts (EEC 3813) Credit Value : 3 Synopsis : An understanding of the general principles and concepts of programming underpins much of the knowledge in any course in computing or IT.Being a core unit, this seeks to provide the fundamental ideas and opportunities to develop and reinforce basic programming skills. Students will develop programs of increasing complexity, and although the content could be delivered from a range of languages, compliers or platforms, the unit should aim to deliver skills and knowledge which will easily transfer to other areas of the programme. This unit will also attempt to dispel the common notion that a programme ‘works’ if is seen to execute once without crashing, asking the student to develop and implement both ‘black-box’ and ‘white-box’ testing schedules based on supplied programme specifications and programme code. Subject Title : English and Communication Studies 3 (UEC 3022) Credit Value : 3 Synopsis : The primary aim of this unit is to provide general and specific skills to the students to help them improve their English proficiency levels. As at foundation level, speaking skills will continue to receive emphasis, while general skills like reading, text completion and grammar revision will still be covered. However in the second half of the course, the focus will shift from general skills to work related writing skills like translation from the first language to English and job application correspondence. Subject Title : Malaysian Studies (DUA 3143) Credit Value : 3 Synopsis : Peringkat pengajian semester ini pelajar akan belajar mengenai pengenalan masyarakat Malaysia, proses politik , jentera pentadbiran serta dasar-dasar kerajaan. |
