HND 2 Subject Title : Engineering Mathematics (EMT 4013)

Credit Value : 3

Synopsis : The primary aim of this unit is to provide the analytical knowledge and techniques necessary for studying engineering to Degree level. It also aims to provide some of the more advanced knowledge required for those wishing to pursue careers in mechanical engineering, aeronautical engineering, electronics, communications engineering, systems engineering and all variants of control engineering. The unit leads on from Further Analytical Methods for Engineers, extending some of the outcomes and introducing more analytical techniques. This unit has been designed to enable learners to develop further techniques for the modeling and solution of engineering problems, including series and numerical methods for ordinary differential equations, Laplace transforms, Fourier series and an introduction to partial differential equations.

Subject Title : Combinational and Sequential Logic (EED 4303)

Credit Value : 3

Synopsis : This unit overlaps with and extends the logic theory contained in the specialist unit Digital and Analogue Devices and Circuits. It develops the theory from an understanding of digital techniques to more practical and complex applications of both combinational and sequential logic. The minimisation of digital circuits by the use of Programmable Logic Devices (PLDs) is also covered

Subject Title : Microprocessor Systems (EED 4403)

Credit Value : 3

Synopsis : The aim of this unit is to provide students with an understanding of microprocessor-based systems and their use in instrumentation/ control/ communication systems. Also it gives a brief description of the architecture of a microprocessor system and to explain the nature of microprocessor instructions and how they are carried out.The students will have knowledge of programming and interfacing of the Intel family of microprocessors.

Subject Title : Engineering Design (EEP 4603)

Credit Value : 3

Synopsis : The aim of the unit is to give students an opportunity to experience the process of carrying out a design project. It will enable them to appreciate that design involves synthesising parameters which will affect the design solution.

Subject Title : Instrumentation and Control Principles (EEM 4703)

Credit Value : 3

Synopsis : This unit is intended to give students an appreciation of the principles of instrumentation. The unit will also give students an understanding of the techniques used in process control and enable them to predict controller settings and make adjustments to achieve stability in such a  control system.

Subject Title :  Business Management Techniques (UBM 4013)

Credit Value : 3

Synopsis : This unit develops students’ knowledge of calculating costs associated with engineered products and services. It also introduces them to the fundamental concepts of project planning and scheduling.

Subject Title :  English And Communication Studies 4 (UEC 4021)

Credit Value : 1

Synopsis : The objective of this course is to help engineering students to use language articulately by learning the learning the language of negotiation and interaction, enhance basic writing skills particularly summary and synthesis of information from multiple sources. Also to promote creative thinking by providing stimulating exercises and tasks that allow for divergent thinking.

Subject Title :  Islamic Studies  3 (UIS 4030)

Credit Value : 1

Synopsis : Peringkat pengajian semester ini pelajar akan belajar mengenai konsep perniagaan Islam, prinsip akidah ahli sunnah wa al-jamaah, penyelewengan akidah, ajaran sesat dan sistem pemerintahan Islam.
